Stoves n’ Stacks are registered Hetas installers.

Hetas is the official body recognised by the Government to approve solid fuel domestic heating appliances, fuels and services.

Most installations of stoves and heating appliances, and the construction or modifying of a chimney are subject to the Building Control Regulations in England and Wales.

Customers using a Hetas Registered Installer will be given a Hetas Certificate of Compliance on the completion of installation work. This is to show that the work was carried out by a competent individual, working for a Hetas Registered Business.

The information on the form is used to record your installation and in England & Wales it is used to notify your Local Authority Building Control Department of the work that was undertaken. This “self certification” by registered installers takes the place of a Local Authority Building Notice which could cost you a significant amount of money (sometimes up to £300).

If the Hetas Ltd Certificate of Compliance is not used, is not completed correctly, or the Certificate is returned late, then there will be no notification of the work to the Local Authority by Hetas. This would mean that the law has not been complied with and may lead to buliding regulation enforcements and difficulties when selling the property.
